How cool is Easter,
I mean obviously it didn’t start so good.
 Christ died.
Have you ever died?
How about this, have you ever died in place of someone else even though they have done very very bad things?
AHHH no.
How great is it that Jesus Died so we could have life!?
How cool is it that God didn’t stop there, Jesus didn’t stay in the grave- He rose AGAIN!
Woah!
These boys are super enthusiastic, it is pretty funny that they are at a  table with 2 other very quiet students (of whom they are blocking out) such a reflection of the crazy usual shenanigans of my room!
My Sunday School Chickadees were so super excited about Easter, having both a good Friday and Sunday service, I taught 35 chickadees all about God’s saving grace!
How amazingly special, I do not take my role for granted.
Most years, at least one of the kids will want to exclaim that the Easter bunny is the real reason, and another will get traumatised over the fact that Christ died. And it wasn’t pretty. And I don’t even get really graphic!
But this year, it was amazing- I just held up the pictures and they told me the story- they were so super excited that they knew so much about the Easter story, they didn’t even care we spent longer than usual talking- and to top it off no child left traumatised and the Easter bunny not even mentioned!!! Holy guacamole!
I had made an informed decision this year that the chickadees DID NOT need any chocolate, especially after last year they came in super hyper and exclaimed, hey I already ate chocolate like they didn’t need any more.
However, despite my anticipation the Senior Pastor’s wife ended up giving me a bag of eggs to give to the kids. I guess this also blew my expectations out of the water, the kids were actually really good, and I had a few crazies down there today.
So I actually wanted to give them chocolate- I’m so glad for thoughtful people!
As far as craft was concerned, I usually go all out, last year I did an insanely messy and expensive food craft, the year before it was glitter and paste and tissue paper and cut-outs and paper plates and cotton wool, it was messy.
This year I decided non fuss. Boring. Blegh. Colouring in, and to make it worse, Miss Emily (yes that’s what they call me) hand-drawn colouring in.

I made two eggs, one for colouring, one for decorating, one with just “new life in Christ” written on it, the other with “isn’t it egg-celent we have new life in Christ” on it.  Oh so cheesy.
Much to my dismay- THEY LOVED IT!

I mean more than craft, they loved just chilling, chatting and colouring- and I loved the non fuss non crazy week with little to clean up! Win, win.
AWESOME!!!

Aren’t my kid’s just the cutest, I look after kids from 3 to 8 years old – we are called “Rising Stars” and the Big kids (year 3-6) are “Rise Kid’s” and the youth group is “Rise Youth” see a little pattern there?

Easter is over so I didn’t bother scanning and making the colouring available as a PDF, but if you for some crazy reason want it comment away J

Au-revoir my Bloggy Buddies! Talk soon!
